LOS ANGELES – LMU looks to continue the successes of playing at home this season as the Lions (6-4, 1-1 WCC) host three home games over the next five days before heading north to continue West Coast Conference play on Monday.
Â
The Lions, who carry a 6-0 home record in Coach
Stan Johnson's first season on the Bluff will face San Diego on Tuesday, Saint Mary's on Thursday, and Santa Clara on Saturday from Gersten Pavilion.
Â
The Lions won their conference opener at home, beating San Francisco on Sunday, Jan. 10. San Diego (1-5, 0-2) will be making the in-state trip to Los Angeles following a Sunday game over the weekend, where the Toreros fell to Santa Clara.
Â
The game will air regionally across the West Coast on FOX Sports Prime Ticket, FOX Sports San Diego, NBC Sports California, and ROOT Sports NW.
Â
LMU took both meetings over San Diego in the 2020-21 season, including a 14-point win in the WCC Tournament opening round last March.
Â
San Diego's game over the weekend was their first time hitting the court in the calendar year, a span of 18-days between games. These two teams are scheduled to meet once more this month, a Jan. 30 game in San Diego.
LMU assistant coach
David Carter worked under San Diego's Sam Scholl last season in the same position.
