SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference has announced its 2020 softball All-Academic Team and All-Academic Honorable Mention teams on Wednesday. LMU's
Molly Grumbo and
Mallory Eckroth each earned a spot on the league's All-Academic team, the second consecutive selection for Grumbo. Both
Megan Dedrick and
Andrea Gonzalez each were named as Honorable Mention selections.
Grumbo started in 21 games in the shortened 2020 season and recorded the highest batting average on the team. Her .487 finished in the NCAA's top 10 ranking in batting average.
Eckroth started six games and appeared in 17 games in the circle. She had a 5.57 ERA and went 3-1 with had 13 strikeouts on the year.
Gonzalez started in all 23 games this season and went .351 at the plate. She totaled six doubles, five homeruns, and led the team with 24 RBIs.
Dedrick started in all 23 games and recorded a .305 batting average. She had 13 runs, two homeruns, 16 RBIs, four doubles, and one triple.
The criteria for Spring 2020 nominations included a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade point average (GPA) based on the most recently completed term at the time of the nomination (fall or winter term) and have at least sophomore athletic and academic standing with at least one year in residence completed at the nominating institution.
