LOS ANGELES – The No. 9 Loyola Marymount beach volleyball team will head to San Luis Obispo, Calif., to take on No. 8 Cal Poly, and No. 6 Pepperdine on Saturday. 
 
The Lions will head into Saturday's matches coming off of a 2-1 week, where the team lost to No. 1 UCLA 5-0, but swept St. Katherines and Vanguard University 5-0. 
 
Along with their top 10 national ranking, the Lions have been picked to finish first in the West Coast Conference, while Bo Culo, Savannah Slattery, Jessie Prichard, Reka Orsi Toth and Emma Doud were named to the 2020 All-WCC Preseason Beach Volleyball Team. 
 
Last season, the Lions split with Cal Poly, as the team beat the Mustangs 4-1 in Malibu, and then lost 2-3 in Santa Monica.  The Mustangs are 2-2 on the season, as they have lost to No. 9 Stetson and No. 2 Florida State. 
 
The Lions defeated Pepperdine twice last season to take the WCC Championship, going 2-2 overall against the Waves. Pepperdine is 3-0 on the season and has not played a ranked team yet. 
 
LMU's first match will be at 3:00 PM against Pepperdine. The team will play its second match of the day at 7:00 PM against Cal Poly. Both matches will be played at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo.
