LMU Closes Out Regular Season by Hosting USF, Unveiling Hank Statue

LOS ANGELES - LMU men's basketball (10-19, 4-11 WCC) will play its final home game of the 2020 season on Saturday afternoon. The full day of events include family weekend activities, the unveiling of the Hank Gathers statue, and Senior Day recognition before the Lions take on San Francisco (19-11, 8-7 WCC).

Erik Johansson will be playing in Hank's House for the final time on Saturday after a four-year career that most recently included a second appearance on the WCC All-Academic Team, which the West Coast Conference announced this week. Johansson ranks 14th all-time in program history with 110 made threes. The Swede's 115 games played is tied for ninth all-time, and after Saturday's game and the WCC Championships, Johansson should move into the top-5 with at least 117 games played for LMU.

LMU and San Francisco first met this season on Jan. 18. The Lions held a two-point lead over the Dons at the half, but USF took the game. Eli Scott recorded one of his six double-doubles on the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds in defeat.

USF have won their last two games after losing four of the previous five. On Thursday, the Dons beat Portland by 16 points on San Francisco's Senior Day.

The Lions will also be unveiling a special throwback uniform designed to recognize the Elite Eight run made by the 1989-90 team, on that season's 30th anniversary. Many members of that team and coaching staff will be in attendance and will receive halftime recognition.

The Hank Gathers statue unveiling ceremony is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., outside of the arena, with the game following at 5 p.m. Admission to the ceremony is free to the public.

The game will stream live on Stadium. Live Stats will be run through Statbroadcast. Live audio can be heard on KXLU 88.9 FM and TuneIN Radio.
