LOS ANGELES - LMU men's basketball (9-18, 3-10 WCC) returns to the Bluff after a road trip that included winning two of three games away from home. The Lions (10-18, 4-10 WCC) tip off twice this week from Gersten Pavilion, beginning with Thursday night's game against Pacific (21-9, 9-5 WCC).
Pacific is one four WCC teams with more than 20 wins this season and closes out their season on the road at LMU and San Diego. Much of the UOP success this year can be attributed to their ability to rebound the basketball. The Tigers rank sixth in the nation with a plus-8.4 rebound margin. Jahlil trip is the WCC leader in rebounding at 8.7 boards per game. Tripp's ability to rebound has helped the senior guard lead the conference with nine double-doubles.
LMU's double-double leader,
Eli Scott collected his sixth of the sea son on Saturday in the win at Portland. Scott continues to rise in the all-time double-doubles list and sits alone in 11th-most in program history with 13. His next recorded double-double will move him into a tie with Elton Mashack and Terrell Lowery for ninth-most. Lowery will be inducted into the West Coast Conference Hall of Honor next weekend at the conference championships.
Thursday night's game will be Green LMU's Sustainability game, as well as LMU Athletics' Scholar Athlete Recognition, which will take place at halftime.
The game will stream live on the WCC Network. Live Stats will be run through Statbroadcast. Jesse Kass can be heard on KXLU 88.9 FM and TuneIN Radio.
LMU's final game before the conference tournament will be played at home on Saturday. The Lions host San Francisco to close out the year in senior
Erik Johansson's final game at Gersten Pavilion. On Saturday, LMU will unveil a statue honoring Hank Gathers with a special 4:00 p.m. ceremony, prior to the 5:00 p.m. tip against the Dons.
