The Loyola Marymount University Lions baseball team (2-0, 0-0 WCC) fell behind early against Washington but a third inning rally followed by run producing sixth and seventh frames proved to be the difference in a 6-3 win against Washington on Saturday night.

Nick Frasso got the starting nod from head coach
Nathan Choate and was solid in his 2020 debut. Frasso worked 4 innings and gave up three hits while striking out five against two walks for the Huskies. He was able to pitch himself out of a jam in the second and ultimately found his rhythm before exiting the game at the end of the fourth.
Â
Trevin Esquerra continued his solid start to 2020 by adding a double, a run scored and an RBI on Saturday night. Esquerra wasn't the only Lion to have a strong night against Husky pitching.
Cooper Uhl pushed in an RBI and had a pair of hits to go with a run scored.

The Lions found themselves down two heading into the bottom of the third and that's where they struck. LMU was able to put four runs on the board off Washington starter Stevie Emanuels. The first three Lions reached on a walk, catcher's interference and an error to score their first run. After an infield single tied the game,
Dylan Dennis delivered the two-out two-run single to give LMU a lead they would never give up.
Â
Alex Burge threw 1 2/3 innings to pick up the win and
Kyle Mora went the final 3 1/3 innings to record his first save of the season.

The Lions and Huskies close out their series tomorrow afternoon with LMU looking to complete a three-game sweep. First pitch at Page is set for 1:00 p.m.Â
