LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University men's tennis team (3-1, 2-0) will take its first road trip of the season, as the team will head to San Luis Obispo to take on Cal Poly on Saturday.
"As much fun as we have had playing home on the bluff, we are excited to hit the road this weekend," said head coach
Tom Lloyd. "The Mustangs are yet another team that are well coached and we will need to bring the juice on the road and compete!"
The Lions will head into Saturday's match against the Mustangs coming off of an impressive 6-1 win over San Diego State University. LMU was led by
Keenan Mayo and
Emin Torlic, who both won WCC Men's Tennis Player and Doubles Team of the Week awards.
Mayo took the Player of the Week award after beating his opponent 6-3, 6-0 from the No. 1 position. Mayo and Torlic teamed up in doubles play to pick up a quick 6-2 win on court two.
The last time the Lions met with Cal Poly was in 2018, where LMU defeated the Mustangs at home 5-2.
LMU will take on the Mustangs at noon in San Luis Obispo.
