Molly Grumbo was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday.
Grumbo earned the first WCC Player of the Week Honors of the 2020 season after she led the Lions to two wins at the Cal State Fullerton Titan Classic over the weekend, including a 4-3 win over San Jose State and a 5-4 win over Middle Tennessee.
Grumbo scored her first homerun against Utah State, where she went 1-3 at the plate and had two RBIs. The catcher went 5-5 at the plate against UC Riverside and had three RBIs and four of the Lions' 12 runs and had one homerun. The junior had a total of five RBIs on the weekend, six runs, two home runs and had a .529 batting average.
Grumbo and the rest of the Lion squad will be back in action this weekend, as the team will head to Lake Elsinore to play in the Golden State Plus 27 tournament.
