LOS ANGELES — LMU welcomes Justin Siegel as the newest member of the softball coaching staff.
LMU is pleased to announce the hiring of Justin Siegel as the new Assistant Softball Coach. Siegel joins LMU with a wealth of experience in coaching, player development, and leadership, having most recently transformed Notre Dame High School into a powerhouse in high school softball.
Justin Siegel brings more than two decades of coaching experience to LMU, with an impressive track record at both high school and club levels. As the head softball coach at Notre Dame High School, Siegel led the team to significant success over four seasons, amassing 87 wins and never losing more than six games in a single season. Under his leadership, the Knights secured four consecutive Mission League championships and set numerous team and individual records.
Siegel's coaching prowess earned him consecutive Los Angeles Daily News High School Coach of the Year titles in 2025 and 2026. His coaching staff was also recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as the Region IV Coaching Staff of the Year and was a finalist for the NFCA National High School Coaching Staff of the Year in 2025. His tenure at Notre Dame saw the development of standout players, including All-Americans Ella Parker (Oklahoma) and Izzy Mertes (Central Florida), alongside multiple Mission League Players and Pitchers of the Year.
In the realm of travel softball, Siegel has guided elite athletes with his national program, Impact Gold National - Siegel, achieving a remarkable 334-113 record. His teams have consistently performed at the highest levels, securing top finishes at prestigious national events such as PGF Nationals and Triple Crown tournaments.
Siegel's coaching career is further bolstered by his background as a collegiate and professional baseball pitcher. He played for North Carolina State and Long Beach State, contributing to successful seasons, including a Big West Championship and participation in NCAA regionals. His professional career included being drafted by the Texas Rangers and later selected by the Boston Red Sox in the minor league portion of the Rule 5 Draft.
Off the field, Siegel emphasizes academic achievement and community involvement. His teams maintained top GPAs at Notre Dame and partnered with UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital, providing opportunities for players to engage in meaningful community service.
Siegel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from California State University, Long Beach. He resides in Westlake Village, CA, with his wife Leigh Anne and their three daughters, Daryn, Sydney, and Carsyn.
