LMU Softball Earns Nine WCC All-Academic Honors, Showcasing Commitment Beyond the Field

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The West Coast Conference has recognized nine members of LMU Softball on the 2026 All-Academic Team, highlighted by three Lions earning All-Academic Team honors and six receiving Honorable Mention recognition.

Earning All-Academic Team honors for the Lions are Avery Francis, Izzy Jamgotchian, and Sydney Poole, a trio that exemplifies the balance of elite academic achievement and high-level athletic performance required for one of the conference's most prestigious honors.

Avery Francis has been a driving force for LMU this season, starting every game while leading the conference with a .433 batting average and 32 stolen bases. Her impact on the field has been matched by her commitment in the classroom, as she represents the standard of consistency, discipline, and excellence that defines a WCC All-Academic selection.

Izzy Jamgotchian, one of the most accomplished players in program history, anchored the Lions' offense with 21 home runs and 57 RBIs while maintaining a .473 on-base percentage. Beyond her record-breaking career at the plate, her recognition as an All-Academic honoree reflects years of dedication to succeeding at the highest level both athletically and academically.

Poole continued to be a steady and reliable leader, starting every game this season while batting .319 with 51 hits and 35 RBIs. A proven performer throughout her career, her selection to the All-Academic Team underscores her sustained commitment to excellence in all areas of the student-athlete experience.

In addition to the three All-Academic selections, LMU placed six student-athletes on the Honorable Mention list: Angela Carrera, Jaida Fulcher, Sakora Harvell, Meeya Johnson, Cristina Jones, and Lindsay O'Dell – further demonstrating the program's depth of academic and athletic success.

Carrera has provided valuable innings in the circle with a 1.87 ERA, while Fulcher has made key contributions off the bench with an impressive .500 on-base percentage. Harvell has been a mainstay in the lineup, starting 46 out of 52 games and delivering consistent production on both sides of the ball.

Johnson has added versatility and production in the outfield, while Jones has contributed in multiple roles throughout the season. O'Dell has been a workhorse in the circle, leading the pitching staff with 132 innings pitched and 15 wins on the year.

The WCC All-Academic Team honors student-athletes who distinguish themselves not only through their athletic contributions, but through their dedication, discipline, and achievement in the classroom. LMU's nine selections reflect a program culture that prioritizes success beyond competition, developing well-rounded individuals who excel in every aspect of the collegiate experience.
