LOS ANGELES – The LMU men's basketball team (1-2) returns to The Bluff to host Long Beach State (0-0) on Friday at 6:00 pm, a team that has yet to see the court this season. The Lions return from Big Ten Country, having played Minnesota twice over the last week.

Entering the game, the Lions have outrebounded opponents this season, with a great example being the last game out against the Gopheres. On Monday, the Lions outrebounded Minnesota by 13, while holding a ten-rebound advantage on the offensive glass.

Eli Scott was the first Lion to record 7+ offensive rebounds in a game since
Mattias Markusson grabbed eight O-Boards at San Francisco on Feb. 17, 2018.

Scott has grabbed a 598 career rebounds which ranks 24
th among active Division I players. Markusson's 460 career boards ranks 70
th among DI actives.

Friday's game will be the first time that the two programs will meet since 2013, after playing each other 14 times in a 16-year span from 1998 through 2013.

This will be the second game back in the home venue this season for the Lions, following the buzzer-beater win over Southern Utah on Nov. 25. Coach
Stan Johnson won his first collegiate game that night over his alma mater.

Long Beach State was originally scheduled to play at UCLA earlier in the week on Nov. 30, before that game was announced as postponed.
