LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University women's basketball team won its first conference match of the season after beating University of San Francisco 76-69, while
Aspyn Adams made LMU history after draining seven three-pointers.

Charity Elliott. "It has been a rough few weeks and a rough go, but the team continues to battle and fight together. This team has not given up and this team continues to fight."

The Lions opened up the first quarter to a slow start, as the Dons took the lead and held on to it for more than half of the quarter. LMU was able to tie things up three times, but the team wasn't able to take the lead, closing out the first quarter down 18-16.
LMU quickly responded to open up the second quarter, going on an 11-2 run to take the lead, which the Dons battled for, but the Lions came out on top to close the half, as the team was up 33-32.
The Lions and the Dons tied things up twice in the first two minutes of the third quarter. The Lions went on a 13-4 run to take the lead, which they held onto for the remainder of the game. LMU closed out the third up 55-49.
The Dons were able to cut their deficit by five early in the fourth quarter, but the Lions pulled away and maintained the lead.
Aspyn Adams went into the fourth 6-6 from behind the arch. The freshman made her seventh three-pointer of the game, which lands her tied at the No. 1 spot in LMU women's basketball history for three-pointers made.
Adams is tied for first with four other Lions who also made seven three-pointers in a game, with the last being in 2015 from Leslie Lopez-Wood. Adams led the Lions to their 76-69 win over the Dons.
Adams led the team in points with 24, while going 7-8 at the line and 8-9 from the field.
Jasmine Jones had 14 points, while also leading the team in rebounds with eight and had three steals. CiCi Ellington led the team in assists with eight, while
Meghan Mandel had three blocks.
The Lions shot 48 percent from the field and 36 percent from behind the arch, while the Dons shot 44 and 25. LMU went 8-10 at the line, while USF went 11-18. The Lions had 33 total rebounds and 20 assists.

Raychel Stanley's second half was phenomenal. I am really proud of how everyone played, now we need to keep moving forward."
