LOS ANGELES - After earning a home split last week, the LMU men's basketball team is back on the road for one game. The Lions (8-13, 2-5 WCC) travel to Stockton, Calif., to face Pacific (15-8, 3-4 WCC) for the first time this season.
LMU has had Pacific's number both of late and in Stockton. The Lions have won seven of eight overall and seven of eight in the Alex G. Spanos Center over the Tigers, with the only loss coming in overtime in 2017.
The Tigers have been strong in Stockton this season. Pacific is one of three conference schools in the WCC with three or fewer losses on their home floor this season, despite starting conference play with a 1-2 mark at the Spanos Center. After winning the four-overtime instant classic over Saint Mary's on Jan. 4, Pacific has lost at home to both San Francisco and BYU.
LMU will look to keep Pacific from getting the shot they want. The Tigers rank last in the WCC with only 5.7 three attempts per game, but shoot the second highest overall percentage from the field at a clip of 41.1 percent.
Eli Scott is five rebounds shy of becoming LMU's 28th member of the 500-rebound club. The junior ranks seventh in the WCC with 7.8 rebounds per game this season, one of several statistical categories that Scott ranks in the top-eight in.
The game will stream on the WCC Network. Live Stats will be run through Pacific's Sidearm website. Jesse Kass can be heard on KXLU 88.9 FM and TuneIN Radio.
Following the game, LMU will return back to Los Angeles to prepare for Saturday's second leg of the PCH Cup. The home edition of the matchup against Pepperdine will tip at 3 p.m., following the home women's basketball game at 12 noon.
