The Loyola Marymount University Lions women's swim team traveled to St. George, Utah to take on the Dixie State Trailblazers over the weekend for their last swim meet before heading to the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference Championships in a few weeks.
Lions freshman Lily Gallagher was the standout of the meet for LMU. She won the 500 freestyle and placed fourth in the 200 freestyle with a close four way race between places one through four. The competition, only the third for the freshman since joining the team in January, has her primed for the conference championships.
Lanna Kozlowski, Serena Myatt and Christine Chan all picked up a third place finishes in the first half of the competition: Kozlowski in the 1000, Myatt in the 50 freestyle, and Chan in the 200 Individual Medley.
Chan returned after a short break to take second place in the 100 Butterfly with freshman, Mikayla Tseng close behind in third. Freshman Kelli Andrade also managed a third place finish in the 100 breaststroke.
LMU will now begin their preparation for the PCSC Conference Championships at East Los Angeles College February 12-16.
