Bandimere Signs to Play Professionally in Netherlands

LOS ANGELES – Loyola Marymount pitcher Hannah Bandimere has signed a contract to play professional softball with the Terrasvogels in Haarlem, Netherlands, announced by head coach Sami Strinz-Ward on Tuesday.

"I couldn't be more proud of Hannah as she continues her softball career professionally," said Strinz-Ward. "She had multiple opportunities to continue playing by being the second overall draft pick in the ASBA and other international teams who had interest. She was able to choose her own adventure and I think she made a great decision. Playing abroad was calling to her and she has an amazing opportunity ahead of her. I can't wait to follow her success!"

Bandimere was second in the West Coast Conference in earned run average, as she posted a 2.26 on the season, pitching 179.1 innings, while having 118 strikeouts. Her senior season, Bandimere picked up 18 wins and had one no-hitter, leading the Lions to their NISC Regional Championship.

The Carlsbad, Calif. native will be joining the highest level of softball in the Netherlands. The Terrasvogels will travel around Europe to play and will compete in the European Cup.

"Playing abroad at some point in my career was something I was really passionate about," said Bandimere.  "My senior year I was extremely lucky to have the help of coach Sami and other contacts to help find me a team, the Terrasvogels are the perfect fit. I'm lucky enough to call softball my real-life job for the next few months while also getting to travel the world. Basically, I'm living my wildest dreams."
