#7 Pacific Takes Early Lead to Top #13 Lions

Box Score

STOCKTON, Calif. – In a battle of last year's top two Golden Coast Conference teams, #7 Pacific (11-8, 4-0) remained unbeaten in the GCC and took the game, 13-7, over #13 LMU (17-9, 3-2 GCC).

Pacific opened the first quarter with four consecutive goals, before Morgan Molloy and Marialena Seletopoulou cut the deficit in half before the first eight minute session came to a close.

After the Tigers built their lead up to 6-2 early in the second quarter, it was Mollie Williams' goal to make it a 6-3 game at the half.

Seletopoulou's goal at the 5:52 mark of the third quarter brought the Lions within two, 6-4. Pacific added three consecutive in the third before Katie Hungerford stopped the UOP run. Molloy added her second goal of the day with 26 seconds left in the third, making it a 9-6 heading into the final quarter.

LMU's comeback bid came up short as Pacific started the fourth quarter with four-straight goals before a late 5-Meter conversion by Hana VIlanova closed out the game.

Sky Flores made four saves in her 32 minutes in the cage.

Conference play continues on the road with a trip to Cal Baptist University on Saturday, Apr. 13, for a noon contest.
