LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount women's tennis team picked up an easy 4-1 win over Santa Clara on Thursday.
The Lions couldn't hold on in doubles play, as
Siobhan Anderson and Lillian Gabrielson were defeated by Katya Tabachnik and Caitlyn Frankel on court two 6-3.
Elvira Juravliova and
Camila Tumosa picked up a 6-3 win over Jamie Schroer and Lindsey Pesqueira on court three, 6-3.
Tied up at 1-1,
Eva Marie Voracek and
Veronika Miroshnichenko fell to Maddie Pothoff and Elvena Gevargiz on court one 6-3, clinching the doubles point for the Broncos.
Down 1-0 headed into singles play, the Lions gained momentum, as Miroshnichenko picked up an easy 6-0, 6-3 win over Pothoff on court one. Voracek beat Gevargiz on court two, 6-4, 6-1, giving the Lions the lead.
Juravliova beat Katya Tabachnik on court four 6-2, 6-2, while Yesica De Lucas beat Frankel on court five, 6-3, 6-4, clinching the match for the Lions.
The Lions will take on University of San Francisco at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Saturday's match will be used to honor senior Juravliova.
