LONG BEACH, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount beach volleyball team fell in both of its games Wednesday afternoon, as the team lost to No. 15 Stetson 4-1 and to No. 8 Long Beach State 3-2 in Long Beach, Calif.
 
The Lions took on Stetson in their first match of the day, where Savannah Slattery and Reka Orsi Toth fell to their opponents on court one, 21-17, 21-12, while Megan Nash and Emma Doud fell on court two 21-12, 21-15. Megan Rice and Bo Culo lost on court three, 21-15, 21-17. 
 
Sara Kovac and Jessie Prichard picked up their seventh consecutive win of the season after beating their opponents 22-20, 21-17 at the No. 4 spot. Veronica Nederend and Erin Martin pushed their opponents to three sets, but fell 16-21, 22-20, 15-9. 
 
The Lions put up a fight in their second match against LBSU, but fell 3-2.  Slattery and Orsi Toth fell 21-15, 21-18 on court one. 
 
Nash and Doud pushed their opponents to three set and came out with a win, 21-18, 16-21, 15-12 on court two. Rice and Culo fell on court three 21-14, 20-14.
 
Kovac and Prichard remain undefeated, as they picked up their eighth consecutive win of the season on court four 21-19, 21-14. Nederend and Martin had tight match, but fell 22-20, 22-20 on court five. 
 
The Lions are now 5-3 on the season and will play their next match on March 13 against Cal Poly and Texas Christian in Malibu, Calif.
