LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The No. 12 Loyola Marymount beach volleyball team will head to Long Beach, Calif., to take on No. 15 Stetson University and No. 8 Long Beach State on Wednesday.
The Lions (5-1) will head into this weekends' matches coming off of a 2-1 week, as the team fell to USC 4-1, but swept CSUN and Vanguard University 5-0.
The doubles tandem of
Sara Kovac and
Jessie Prichard have remained undefeated this season. The tandem has gone 6-0 at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions.
After their 2-1 weekend, the Lions have jumped up from their No. 13 national ranking to No. 12. Both of the Lions' games will be against ranked opponents, as Stetson is No. 15 with a 3-1 record and Long Beach State is No. 8 with a 3-1 record.
The last time the LMU met with Stetson was in Hawai'i in 2017, where the Lions won both of their games 3-2. The Lions also met with Long Beach State last in 2017, where they fell to LBSU 5-0, 3-2.
LMU's first match will be against Stetson at 12:30 p.m., with their match against LBSU to follow at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Long Beach, Calif.
