Box Score LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount men's tennis team (5-10, 3-0) picked up its third consecutive conference win, as the team beat Pacific 4-3 Saturday afternoon, giving the team a 2-0 week.
The Lions battled the Tigers starting with doubles play, as
Lukas Moenter and
Thien Nguyen were beat by Phillip Hjorth and Ross Watson on court two 6-3.
Nick Borchenko and
Diego Nava evened things out after beating Tadiwa Chinamo and Akram El Sallaly 6-4 on court one.
Ryan Brown and
Ethan Prost fell to Nathan Hampton and Josef Southcombe on court three 6-4, clinching the doubles point for Pacific.
Down 1-0 on the day,
Austin Di Giulio tied things up for the Lions after beating Hampton on court six, 6-2, 6-3. Nava fell to Chinamo after a close second set, 6-3, 7-5, but Prost tied things up with a win over Southcombe on court five, 7-5, 6-1.
Tied at 2-2, Moenter beat Ross Watson on court one 6-2, 7-5, but the score was tied up against after Moreno fell to El Sallaly on court four after pushing him to three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 2-6.
Borchenko clinched the match for the Lions after pushing Philip Hjorth to three sets and coming out with a win, 7-6, 5-7, 6-4, giving the Lions their 4-3 win.
The Lions will hit the road next week to take on Portland and Gonzaga.
