GCC Release
LOS ANGELES – The Golden Coast Conference has named Loyola Marymount University sophomore transfer
Marialena Seletopoulou the league's Player of the Week on Friday.
LMU's Seletopoulou's tournament-high 18 points helped the Lions finish 4-0 against tough competition in the 18th Annual LMU Invitational. Selepotoulou made her home debut count, scoring at least two goals per game and totaling five goals on each day of the two-day tournament. Seletopoulou was the only player from any of the eight participating teams to place in the top four in the tournament in goals and top three in assists, all well recording a .556 shooting percentage. LMU's wins were over #16 Wagner, (RV) Bucknell, #20 Marist, and #14 Princeton.
Selepotoulou is the second Lion to be named GCC Player of the Week this season. Teammate
Morgan Molloy earned Co-honors on Feb. 21.
The #12 Lions begin GCC play on Friday and Saturday with back-to-back home game. LMU will play at Burns Aquatics Center Friday at 4 p.m. against (RV) San Diego State and will be back at noon on Saturday against #T-22 Azusa Pacific.
