LMU Goes Undefeated on the Week

IRVINE, Calif., -- The No. 13 Loyola Marymount beach volleyball team went 4-0 this week, while sweeping three of their opponents. The Lions had a 4-1 win over CSUN and 5-0 sweeps over Colorado Mesa, Vanguard University and Concordia University.  
 
The Lions (12-6) went to Northridge for their first two matches of the week, where they took on CSUN in their first match. CSUN put the first point on the board, as Ella Boehle and Bozeno Culo were defeated on court four, 21-13, 21-19. 
 
LMU tied things up after Sara Kovac and Jessie Prichard picked up their 13thwin of the season, as the pair beat their opponents 21-19, 21-12 at the No. 2 spot. Megan Nash and Emma Doud gave the Lions the lead when they beat their opponents 21-8, 21-17 on court three. 
 
Veronica Nederend and Erin Martin clinched the match for the Lions after their 21-13, 21-14 win on court five. Savannah Slattery and Reka Orsi Toth picked up the fourth point for the Lions, as they won 21-14, 21-14. 
 
Up 1-0 on the day, the Lions went into their second match with even more momentum. Boehle and Doud had a quick 21-6, 21-9 win on court four to put the Lions on the board. Kovac and Prichard won 21-12, 21-12 on court two, while Nash and Bozeno clinched the match after a 21-11, 21-9 win. 
 
Slattery and Orsi Toth came out with a 21-15, 21-18 win, while Nederend and Martin won 21-8, 21-12. 
 
The Lions extended their sweep streak on Friday starting with Vanguard, where Slattery and Orsi Toth won 21-18, 21-12, while Kovac and Prichard won 21-13, 21-11. 
 
Boehle and Doud won 21-13, 21-9, while Culo and Nash picked up a 21-14, 21-9. Nederend and Martin won 21- 10, 21-11, giving the Lions their first win of the day. 
 
LMU took on Concordia in its second match, where the Lions picked up their final sweep of the week. 
 
Slattery and Orsi Toth won 21-9, 21-14. Kovac and Prichard picked up their 17thwin of the season, giving them a 17-1 record after beating their opponents 21-12, 21-9. 
 
Nederend and Martin didn't let their opponents get to double digits, as they won 21-8, 21-8. Boehle and Doud won 21-18, 21-14, while Nash and Culo won 21-12, 21-17, giving the Lions their fourth win of the week. 
 
The Lions will be back in action on Tuesday to take University of Oregon and No. 1 UCLA in Santa Monica, Calif.
