SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount women's basketball team picked up its second win of the weekend after the team beat San Francisco 73-66, giving the Lions (15-10, 8-5) a road sweep and their fourth consecutive win. The win included a new record set by
Bree Alford, and a career high from
Cierra Belvin.

Alford came into Saturday's game only needing two rebounds to break Alex Cowling's record for LMU's All-Time Rebounds, which she broke within the first two minutes of the first quarter against the Dons. She ended the game with six rebounds, tallying 944 career rebounds.
Belvin also had a dominating game, as she was one of the team's leaders in points, scoring 15, a career high for the junior. She also tallied three rebounds and three assists.
USF (6-17, 2-10) scored the first basket to open the first quarter, which was the Dons' largest lead of the game.
Chelsey Gipson put the first points on the board for the Lions with a three-pointer to tie things up, this was the only tie of the game, as the Lions held on to a lead for the remainder of the game.
The Lions got their first double-digit lead first quarter, as
Jasmine Jones and Gipson led the quarter in points with six and seven. LMU kept the momentum up second quarter, as they pushed up to a 12-point lead and ended the half up 36-24.
Gipson set the tone again for the Lions in the second half, as she was the first to make a basket. The Lions took the largest lead in the third quarter, as they were up by 15 points about half way through. The Dons fought back and made it a one-point game. Gipson made another three-point shot to end the quarter, giving the Lions a 55-51 lead.
Belvin opened up the fourth quarter with a basket, which eventually led to the Lions getting a double-digit lead back. LMU battled and came out with a 73-66 win over USF.
Gipson led the team in scoring with 27 points, which included going 6-7 on three-point field goals. Jones also led the team in points with 16 and had four rebounds, while Alford led in rebounds with six and Velasco led in assists with six.
The Lions shot 47 percent from the field, compared to the Dons' 41 percent. LMU also had 12 steals and four assists compared to USF's six and nine.
The Lions' victory marks the first win the Lions have had over USF in San Francisco since 2013.
LMU will be back in action on Friday to take on PCH Rivals Pepperdine at home at 7.pm.
