LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Loyola Marymount volleyball players Tess Ried and
Megan Rice will be representing the Lions at the 2019 U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryout in Colorado Springs, Colo. on March 1-3.
Reid and Rice will be among over 200 athletes competing for a spot on one of the U.S. Women's National Team Programs.
Reid compiled a total of 1,344 assists last season and was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division I All-America Team Honorable Mention. The setter led the West Coast Conference in assists and ranked third in the nation.
Rice compiled a total of 103 digs in 2017, while tallying up a total 375.5 points. The outside hitterwas named WCC All-Conference Player in 2017 before she injured herself, forcing her to sit out her junior season.
Rice and Ried are coach by
Aaron Mansfield and led the Lions to a 21-10 season, where the team made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
