LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount men's tennis team will host its second match of the season this Saturday, as the team will be taking on UNC Wilmington.
The Lions (1-4) will be coming off of a hard-fought match against Oregon, where the team dominated in doubles play, but couldn't keep up the pace in singles, as they fell to the Ducks 6-1.
The doubles tandem of
Diego Nava and
Nick Borchenko have proven to be dominate all season, as the pair has tallied up an undefeated 4-0 record, while the doubles tandem of
Lukas Moenter and
Thien Nguyen have an undefeated 2-0 record.
Nava has proven to be an asset in singles play, as he is 2-2 on the season, while Moenter has also proven to be dominant after beating New Mexico's No. 35 singles player in the nation.
UNC Wilmington is 5-4 on the season with a two-game winning streak. This will be the first meeting between the Lions and the Seahawks.
The Lions will kick off the match with doubles play on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at LMU Tennis Center.
