LOS ANGELES Calif., -- Loyola Marymount men's tennis player
Lukas Moenter was named the West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
The senior earned his first ever career weekly honor after beating New Mexico's No. 35 Ricky Hernandez Tong 7-5, 7-6 at the No. 1 spot. Moenter's win clinched the match for the Lions, giving the team a 4-3 win, their first of the season.
Moenter also had a strong showing in doubles play, as he and teammate
Thien Nguyen picked up the first doubles win at the No. 2 position, beating their opponents 6-4.
Moenter and the rest of the Lion squad will be back in action on Sunday February 17 to take on Oregon in Eugene, Ore.
