LOS ANGELES - Following a game that featured the first recorded triple-double in LMU program history, the Lions (4-5) look to even their record this Friday as Prairie View A&M (3-6) comes to The Bluff.
LMU shot an unprecedented 69.2 percent (18-for-26) from the field in the first half last Saturday and never looked back from there. Strong shooting has been a calling card for the Lions this season. Through Wednesday night, LMU ranks fourth in the country in field goal percentage, coming in a 52.1 percent. Only Dayton (54.6%), Loyola Chicago (52.5%), and Kansas (52.3%) have shot at a higher clip this season.
The 38.3 percent mark from three this season puts the Lions in 31st nationally in that category.
The Panthers come in with a quick turnaround, having played at Arizona State on Wednesday night. PVAMU found themselves in a three-point game in the second half, before a late run by the Sun Devils put the game away.
Prairie View A&M's biggest strength is their ability to force turnovers. At 17.67 turnovers forced per game, the Panthers rank 31st in the country in that category. The active hands do lead to a lot of foul calls against Prairie View. The Panthers rank 325
th in Division I in fewest fouls with 204 committed this season.
LMU is on a home stretch that includes six out of seven games in Los Angeles. This includes the scheduled home game on Dec. 19, which has been switched to the Galen Center on the campus of USC. The only remaining non-conference away game is Monday's contest at UC Davis.
The game will stream on the WCC Network. All LMU men's basketball games can be heard live on KXLU 88.9 FM and TuneIN Radio. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m.
