Malibu, Calif --. – The Loyola Marymount University volleyball team (13-12, 7-6) suffered a 3-0 loss against Pepperdine in Malibu, Calif on Friday night.
LMU vs. Pepperdine – 25-7, 25-13, 25-18
The Lions struggled in both their first two sets, as they were only able to tie up the score once in the first set with no lead changes, while Pepperdine maintained the lead without a tie in set two.
The Lions gained some momentum in set three, as there were 12 tied scores and three lead changes. Although the Lions had gained momentum in set three, they were not able to take the set, falling 25-18.
Sierra Bartley led the team in kills with seven, while
Megan Rice had five.
Ella Boehle led the team in digs with 11, while
Tess Reid had 20 of the Lions' 21 assists.
Emmelyn Walters led the lions in blocks, as she had four block assists. LMU had six blocks, while the Waves had four.
