LOS ANGELES --. – The Loyola Marymount University volleyball team (14-12, 8-6 WCC) put up a dominating performance against Pacific on Thursday night, as the team swept the Tigers 3-0 in Gersten Pavilion.

The Lions opened up their Salute to Service night on a strong note, as
Savannah Slattery put the first point on the board after a kill. The Lions battled in set one, as Pacific took the lead, and the teams tied things up four times. Tied at 11-11, a kill from
Sierra Bartley gave the lions the lead. The team then went on 7-2 run, and ended up closing the set with a 25-21 win.
Up 1-0, LMU gained even more momentum, as the Lions opened up the second set with a 10-2 run and never allowed the Tigers to take the lead, the squad closed out the set up 25-16.
Pacific responded in the third set, but it wasn't enough to win the set. The Tigers fought, as there were 17 tie scores and seven lead changes. The teams tied things up until 26-26, a block assist by Bartley and
Ella Knowlton gave the Lions their 27
thpoint, and a kill by
Piper Manross gave the Lions their 28
thpoint, winning set three 28-26, sweeping pacific 3-0.
Slattery lead the team in kills with 16 and a .448 hitting percentage, while
Emmelyn Walters had 10 and .562 hitting percentage.
Tess Reid had 20 of the Lions' 42 assists, while
Jessie Prichard had 17.
Ella Boehle put up 16 digs, and Prichard had nine.
Alexis Morrow dominated in blocks, with seven tota https://bit.ly/33R87oul, tying her career high and marking her season high.
The Lions had 42 total kills and a .269 hitting percentage, compared to Pacific's 38 and .094. LMU put up three service aces, while the Tigers had three. The Lions had nine total blocks, while Pacific had two.
This is the Lions' eighth sweep of the season and their fifth home sweep of the season.
