LOS ANGELES –The Loyola Marymount University men's tennis team will host the LMU Invitational this weekend at the LMU Tennis Courts starting this Friday, and will conclude on Sunday.
The Lions will host the LMU Tournament after the team split last week, going to two separate tournaments, one hosted by University of Oregon in Eugene Ore., and one hosted by UNLV in Las Vegas, Nev.
The Lions had a successful weekend in Eugene, as
Ryan Brown and
Emin Torlic opened up the tournament with a doubles win against their opponents from Portland.
The duo also won the first round of singles play, as Brown picked up an easy win against his opponent from Pacific, and Torlic picked up another win over a Portland Pilot, and then a second singles win, advancing to the third round.
Alvaro Gonzalez joined Brown and Torlic, competing in the singles consolation bracket.
Back in Las Vegas,
Diego Nava opened up the 2019 Larry Easley Memorial Classic with a singles win against his opponent from Cal Poly, advancing to the quarterfinals.
Thien Nguyen picked up another singles win against San Diego State University, advancing to the quarterfinals.
Nava and Nguyen paired up for doubles play, taking on Southern Methodists' doubles tandem and came out with a win, advancing to the quarter finals. Juan Cartier also joined the rest of the Lions in Las Vegas.
The Lions will be hosting Utah, UC Irvine, and Utah State University at the LMU Invitational which will start this Friday at 9:00 AM, starting with singles play.

4 teams and each team is guaranteed 3 matches (6 singles and 3 doubles per day)
