LOS ANGELES - LMU men's basketball (1-1) returns to Gersten Pavilion for the final time this month, hosting Colorado State (2-1) on Saturday night. The home game is sandwiched between last week's road trip to Nevada and next week's Junkanoo Jam in Bimini, Bahamas.
The Rams will be one of three consecutive teams from the Mountain West Conference on LMU's schedule, as the Lions open the Bahamas tournament against Air Force. Last year, LMU went 2-0 against the conference, beating UNLV on the road in November and then topping Boise State at home on a coast-to-coast
James Batemon layup to beat the final buzzer.
While this year's Lions have a completely different look than the 22-win team of 2018-19, this season's team is poised to host a Colorado State team whose only loss was against a top-5 Duke team on the road.
The Rams are led by Nico Carvacho, who is averaging a double-double through the early portion of the season with his 14.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game.
LMU's offense has come in a number of different ways.
Ivan Alipiev ranks second in the WCC with 3.5 threes per game,
Eli Scott ranks second in the conference with 15 make free throws, and
Jonathan Dos Anjos ranks second in the league with a 71.4 shooting percentage from teh field. Additionally, Scott's 6.0 assists per game are the third best in the West Coast Conference.
The game will also include a recognition of the 1969 LMU National Champion football team, celebrating 50 years since that milestone.
Game tickets can be purchased online at LMULions.com, through the AXS app, or by contacting the ticket office by phone or in person.
A live stream of the game will be available through the WCC Network.
