LOS ANGELES—The Loyola Marymount University men's tennis team concluded day three of the LMU Invitational, as the team took in UC Irvine in singles play and Utah State in doubles play. 
 
"It's great to close out the fall at home with our invite," said head coach Tom Lloyd. "We had some very good individual performances that rose to the top. As a team, we need to own where we are and do a better job moving forward."
 
The Lions kicked off the last day of the invitational against Utah State in doubles play, where Ryan Brown Max Kaiser easily beat Felipe Acosta and Chritian Holens on court two 8-2, and Diego Nava and Thien Nguyen took on Sergiu Bucur and Javier Ruiz on court one and came out with a 8-4 win, clinching the doubles point for the Lions, and giving LMU a 7-0 win over Utah State. 
 
Lucas Moreno and Austin Di Giulio took on UCI's Mkrtchian and Aaron Bailey, who were filling in for USU's No. three pair. The Lions doubles tandem beat the duo 8-6. 
 
Following their doubles win, the Lions went into singles play, where they took on UCI. Lucas Moreno put up a fight against Jeremy Merville on court three, but lost after forcing three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 10-6. 
 
Nava picked up the first singles point for the Lions after beating Mark Peneff on court one 7-6, 6-4. Alvaro Gonzalez forced Matthew Sah to three sets, but fell 1-6, 6-0, 8-10. 
 
Moreno picked up a win over Ali Amiri on court two, 6-2, 4-6, 10-5. Ethan Prost put up a fight against Bailey, but fell 6-1,2-6, 10-7, while Di Giulio fell to Daniel Gealer on court four 7-5, 6-2, falling 4-3 to UCI. 
 
Emin Torlic filled in for Utah State on court six and picked up a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 win. 
 
This weekend's invitational concludes fall play for the Lions. LMU will be back in action for dual play starting in January.
