FINAL RESULTS
'EWA BEACH, Hawaii – Following a career week by
Gavin Cohen, the LMU men's golf team closed out the Hoakelei CC Invitational with bookended rounds of 285 to place eighth in the field of 20. The Lions shot 285-293-285—863 as a team to finish the tournament under par and in sole possession of eighth place.
"Solid event for us," said Head Coach
Jason D'Amore. "There are plenty of places we can pick up a few shots and continue to move up. I am happy to see Gavin have another good week."
Gavin Cohen jumped five positions on the leaderboard after his career-best four-under Wednesday closed out the tournament. Over the course of the three rounds, Cohen shot three strokes better than his previous all-time low of 211, with a 69-71-68—208.
Also saving their best for last,
Kyle Kinnane (72-73-71—216) tied for 31
st and
Raymond Navis (74-73-72—219) benefitted from a hole in one on six to place in the top 40.
Samuel Su scored for the Lions with his 71-77-75—223.
After sliding into the rotation from an individual to an injury replacement,
Justin Egelske shot a 73-76-74—223 in his 54 holes.
The Lions were one of eight teams to finish the tournament under par, with East Tennessee State taking the team title with a 276-286-273—835.
This closes out the LMU's fall schedule. Tournament play will resume in February.
