The Loyola Marymount University women's swim team traveled to Seattle on Friday and Saturday for two competitions against host Seattle University and Grand Canyon University. Senior Lanna Kozlowski was LMU's standout performer battling SU and GCU's top distance swimmers in four separate races. In Friday's opener, Kozlowski placed third in the 1650 freestyle trailing GCU's Talita Te Flan and SU's Alexis Hooper. Later in Friday's competition, the trio raced in the 500 freestyle, with SU's Hooper taking the win and Kozlowski in the runner-up position followed by Te Flan. 
 
In Saturday's rematch, Kozlowski battled to a second runner-up placing in the 1000 freestyle after a stroke-by-stroke battle with GCU's Te Flan with Hooper a distant third. In the fourth and final race over a 500-yard distance, Kozlowski led from start to finish dominating GCU's Te Flan and SU's Jayna Van Stone by a five and ten second margin.  
 
"Lanna swam incredibly tough in all four races and was always in a stroke-for-stroke battle with either the GCU swimmer or the SU swimmer," said Lions Head Coach Bonnie Adair. "She kept battling and essentially wore them down race by race and then totally blew them away in the last match up in the 500 freestyle.  It was a hard fought and well-deserved victory capping off a great meet for Lanna. It is not easy doing this many distance races in a short two-day period without a let-down in one or more of them and I'm so proud of the way Lanna kept getting back up to race."
 
Two Lion freshmen achieved top-five finishes in the double-dual competition. Freshman Kelli Andrade, the reigning Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference swimmer of the week, placed fourth in the 100 Breaststroke while freshman Mikayla Tseng placed fifth in the 100 Freestyle.
