Lions Score Twice, Fall to USD Behind Moses Hat Trick

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – It was a back-and-forth game featuring multiple lead changes that led to both LMU (3-9-2, 2-2 WCC) and San Diego (6-6-1, 2-2 WCC) coming away with an even 2-2 record in conference play. The Lions took a 2-1 lead in the 49th minute, before USD's Milan Moses completed her hat trick with goals in the 22nd, 50th, and 84th minute.

The Tritons opened the scoring with a penalty kick goal in the 22nd minute by Moses.

LMU was quick to respond, as Skylar Robledo found Madison Werner for a goal with a cross into the middle of the box to equalize in the 25th minute.

Coming right out of halftime, Olivia LaCasto took a corner kick and connected directly with the head of Ali King for the go-ahead goal just three minutes and 35 seconds into the second period.

Moses tied the game back less than a minute later and scored the game-winner with 83:12 on the clock for her seventh of the season.

The Lions outshot the Toreros, 15-12, in the game. Sadie Kenny made three saves on the night.

LMU now returns to Sullivan Field for a pair of home games next week. The Lions host Gonzaga on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game, and close out the weekend on Oct. 26 for a Saturday night game against Saint Mary's.
