SAN DIEGO, Calif. – It was a back-and-forth game featuring multiple lead changes that led to both LMU (3-9-2, 2-2 WCC) and San Diego (6-6-1, 2-2 WCC) coming away with an even 2-2 record in conference play. The Lions took a 2-1 lead in the 49
th minute, before USD's Milan Moses completed her hat trick with goals in the 22
nd, 50
th, and 84
th minute.
The Tritons opened the scoring with a penalty kick goal in the 22
nd minute by Moses.
LMU was quick to respond, as
Skylar Robledo found
Madison Werner for a goal with a cross into the middle of the box to equalize in the 25
th minute.
Coming right out of halftime,
Olivia LaCasto took a corner kick and connected directly with the head of
Ali King for the go-ahead goal just three minutes and 35 seconds into the second period.
Moses tied the game back less than a minute later and scored the game-winner with 83:12 on the clock for her seventh of the season.
The Lions outshot the Toreros, 15-12, in the game.
Sadie Kenny made three saves on the night.
LMU now returns to Sullivan Field for a pair of home games next week. The Lions host Gonzaga on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game, and close out the weekend on Oct. 26 for a Saturday night game against Saint Mary's.
