LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount women's tennis team split at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, as it swept FIU on day one, advancing to day two, where the team couldn't hold on, as they lost to No. 8 UCLA 4-0 in Los Angeles, Calif. 
 
"UCLA was very tough and they came strong and aggressively against us," said head coach Agustin Moreno."We just got to keep working hard so we can have a chance against the top 10 teams in the nation.
 
Siobhan Anderson and Lillian Gabrielsen went up against the No. 1 doubles tandem of Elysia Bolton and Jada Hart and fell 6-1 on court two. 
 
Yesica de Lucas and Camila Tumosa fell to Abi Altick and Taylor Johnson on court three 6-2, giving UCLA the doubles point. 
 
Down 1-0, Gabrielsen was defeated on court six by Alaina Miller 6-0, 6-3, while Eva Marie Voracek was beat by No. 11 Bolton on court two, 6-3, 6-2.
 
Tumosa was beat by Taylor Johnson on court five, 6-3, 6-2, clinching the match for the Bruins. 
 
Veronica Miroshnichenko was up on court one when the match was abandoned. 
 
The Lions will head down the road for their next match against USC on January 31.
