Senior
Abby Chopp garnered Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference Swimmer of the Week recognition for her performance at the Third Annual Lions Cup held January 11 – 12 at the Burns Aquatics Center.
Chopp scored the most points for the Loyola Marymount swim team in helping lead the Lions to victories over Pepperdine and Alaska Fairbanks. She won the 100 IM, took second in the 100 backstroke and finished third in the 200 backstroke. The senior also swam on all five of LMU's A relay squads, helping them win both the 800 and 200 freestyle relays.
This marks the Thousand Oaks native's second weekly award of the season. Chopp was earlier named Swimmer of the Week in the final two weeks of October. Senior's
Marley Abbott and
Keara Reilly have also received honors for the Lions.
The Lions next will head to Alaska Fairbanks to take on the Nanooks for meets on January 25 – 26.
