LOS ANGELES – After two days and three sessions of competition, the Loyola Marymount swim team has won the Third Annual Lions Cup. LMU scored 320 points through 19 events to top Pepperdine (299) and Alaska Fairbanks (229) on Friday and Saturday.
 
The meet opened with the 200 Yard Medley Relay, which LMU took third and fifth, respectively with their A and B teams.
 
Three Lions finished in the top six of the 500 Yard Freestyle with Lanna Kozlowski (5:19.23) taking third, and Keara Reilly (5:23.14) and Audrey Hixon (5:25.37) finishing back-to-back for fifth then sixth.
 
Christine Chan scored seven points with her runner-up finish in the 200 Yard IM, clocking in at 2:15.81.
 
Marley Abbott won the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 24.71 and Isabel Willis took fourth in the event at 25.10.
 
The LMU 800 Yard Freestyle Relay team picked up 18 big points after winning the fifth event with the only under eight minute time of 7:57.80. The Lions followed with a consecutive win finishing in 1:40.27 to take the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.
 
Back-to-back finishes by Lanna Kozlowski (4:50.56) and Lydia Zicker (5:03.71) gave LMU six and five points each in the 400 Yard IM.
 
Olivia Nielsen (1:00.57) took second and Christine Chan (1:00.96) placed fourth in the 100 Yard Butterfly to each score for LMU.
 
Isabel Willis won the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:56.56 to earn nine points in the event. Willis placed third in the 100 Yard Freestyle later in the meet with a time of 54.03.
 
In the 100 Yard Breastroke, Marley Abbott took third with her 1:09.46
 
Abby Chopp led a trio of Lions who placed second, third, and fourth in the 100 Yard Backstroke. Chopp took second in 1:01.29, Gabby Carufel placed third in 1:02.58, and Audrey Hixon finished in fourth with a time of 1:02.64.
 
LMU's 100 Yard Medley Relay placed third (4:08.33) and fifth (4:19.20) to score twice in the event.
 
Top-two finishes were recorded in the 1000 Yard Freestyle by Lanna Kozlowski (10:53.75) and Keara Reilly (10:58.19).
 
Lydia Zicker (2:36.62), Mary Schell (2:37.37), Christine Chan (2:40.72), and Jessica Williamson (2:40.91) all scored in the 200 Yard Breaststroke.
 
The top three spots of the 200 Yard Butterfly went to the Lions as Taylor Pajunen (2:13.94), Olivia Nielson (2:16.64), Sabine Caplin (2:16.92) touched the boards one, two, and three.

Abby Chopp won the 100 Yard IM with a time of 1:01.70, and Serena Myatt (1:03.14) and Marley Abbott (1:03.29) took third and fourth.
 
The meet closed with LMU placing third and fourth with their A and B teams in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.
 
The Lions will get another look at the Nanooks with LMU traveling to Alaska Fairbanks on Jan. 25-26.
