CHICAGO – The LMU men's soccer team (1-2) was defeated by the DePaul Blue Demons (2-2) 3-0 on Sunday afternoon in Chicago. This match completed the Lions' Midwest swing, and ended up being the only game of the road trip after their contest at Loyola-Chicago was cut short and canceled due to inclement weather.

After a scoreless first half on Sunday, the Blue Demons put in their first goal in the match's 46th minute, scored by Isaac Friendt, to put DePaul up 1-0. Istvan Wilhems landed a header in the back of the net at the 57:12 mark to increase DePaul's lead to 2-0, and they ultimately went up 3-0 on a goal by Bryan Simons at 81:09.

The Lions return to California and play one more road match at UC Irvine on Friday before returning to Sullivan Field to play Long Island next Sunday, Sept. 9, at 4 p.m.
