In the final prep before it begins the 2018 season on August 24, LMU volleyball hosted San Diego State in an exhibition scrimmage on Friday morning inside Gersten Pavilion.
The two teams played five regulation sets to 25, and the Lions took sets one, two and four. Final scores for the match were 25-12, 25-17, 28-30, 25-23, 22-25.
In a poll of the West Coast Conference's 10 head coaches earlier this week, LMU was predicted to finish third in the competitive WCC. The third-place selection is the best for LMU since earning a share of second in the 2004 preseason poll. The Lions will open the 2018 season against Rhode Island at 8 a.m. PT on August 24 as part of the Temple Invitational hosted by Temple. LMU first home match is scheduled for September 15 at Noon against Lamar.
