Los Angeles, CA (April 23) - In game four of the 2004 Western Water Polo Association Championships 12th-ranked UC Davis cruised to a 13-6 win over Cal State San Bernardino on Friday afternoon at Loyola Marymount University.
UC Davis had hat-tricks from Alli Johnstone and Brittany Russell to advance as the third seed in this year's tournament and improve to 20-10 on the season. The Coyotes, the six-seed, fall to 21-15 on the year as Sarah Reneker had two goals.
The Aggies jumped to a 5-3 first quarter lead and never trailed. They held a 6-1 edge over the second and third periods combined to pull away. UC Davis will play in Game #9, the first semifinal on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. They will play the winner of UC San Diego and CS Hayward. CSUSB will play at 11:15 a.m. against UC Santa Cruz.
