LOS ANGELES - With the 2018 FIFA World Cup underway and grabbing the attention of the globe, Loyola Marymount men's and women's soccer looks back at the time that several international superstars trained on LMU's Sullivan Field with their respective club teams.
FC Barcelona was on campus in August of 2006, Manchester City played on the Bluff in July of 2011, and Paris Saint-Germain used the campus in July 2016 to practice during their US Summer Tour.
In total, 16 players from those teams are in Russia representing their country on the game's biggest stage. Between the three clubs, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, Mexico, Spain, and Uruguay have players who were part of the summer trainings at LMU.

The World Cup is underway in Russia. Group Phase games will be played from June 14-28, with the Knockout Phase to follow. The Round of 16 will be held from June 30 through July 3, the Qaurter-finals will follow on July 6 and 7. The Semi-finals are scheduled for July 10 and 11, with the Final Match set for July 15 in Moscow.
Sullivan Field has served as the home to LMU soccer since its opening in 1990.
