GCAA Release and Full Recognition
STILLWATER, Okla. - Division I PING All-Region honorees have been announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America, with Loyola Marymount's Riley Elmes being named All-West Region. Players across six regions - Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West - earned all-region honors for 2018.
Elmes finishes his junior season with a 71.33 stroke average, LMU's second-best all-time, surpassing his sophomore season's 71.33. Only Brian Locke's 71.00 in 2006-07 tops Elmes in the program record books.
After earning All-WCC honors with his seventh top-five finish of the season, Elmes competed in the NCAA Stockton Regional and finished 3-under par with his 72-69-72—213.
In LMU's history, Brian Locke previously received recognition from the GCAA, earning All-American Honorable Mention status in 2005-06 and All-American Third-Team recognition in 2006-07.
