Playing together for the first time this year, LMU's Savannah Slattery and Maddie Leiphardt won a match in Pool Play before dropping an opening-round match in the playoffs of the USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships over the weekend in Hermosa Beach.

The duo opened play with a 21-18, 22-20 setback to TCU's House/Hill before knocking off Powers/Domanski (LSU), 21-16, 17-21, 15-11 in the third-place match.

After advancing into the playoff round, the pair met Bates/Smith of South Carolina, falling 21-15, 19-21, 15-10.
