Playing in its first West Coast Conference Tournament Final, LMU men's tennis (19-6) dropped the decision, 4-0, to #41 San Diego (16-8) from the Biszantaz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, Calif.

LMU's 19 wins are the most since setting a program-record with 20 in 2002.

The Lions battled hard in doubles, but #76 August Holmgren/Joel Gamerov outlasted Nick Borchenko / Lukas Moenter, 7-6 (5) on court one to clinch the point. #74 Gui Osorio/Nico Borter defeated Charles Boyce / Lucas Moreno, 6-0, on court two to provide the first half of the doubles decision.

Carrying momentum from the doubles win, San Diego came out strong in singles play, taking the first set on all but one court. Nick Borchenko, who was named to the WCC All-Tournament team for his play on court six, was the exception, posting a 7-5 win over Alexandros Araouzos before his match ultimately went unfinished.

Nico Borter was the first Torero to finish, topping Lucas Moreno, 6-3, 6-1 on court three, followed shortly thereafter by Gamerov's win over Errol Smith, 6-2, 6-4 on court four.

Charles Boyce, playing at #5 in the order, challenged David Norfeldt in the opening set, dropping it 7-5, but Norfeldt hit his stride in the second, running away with the 6-0 decision to hand USD its fifth straight WCC crown.
