Kick starting a busy week of play, the #43 LMU men's tennis team (9-2) managed a 7-0 sweep of UTSA (8-8) on Friday morning from the LMU Tennis Center.

"UTSA is a very feisty and well coached team," head coach Tom Lloyd said. "We let them into the match and under estimated them in a few spots."

LMU managed to take the doubles point by way of 6-4 victories on courts one and three. Gabriel Diaz Freire / Nick Borchenko posted a 6-4 win over Ceolin/Cantanhede on court one, while Errol Smith / Diego Nava topped Gonzalez/Poestinger, 6-4, on court three to extend their win streak to six matches.

Borchenko kept his singles hot play going on court six, taking down Poestinger, 6-4, 6-3, to extend his win streak to nine matches and hand LMU a 2-0 lead in the match score. Lucas Moreno was next to finish for LMU, wrapping up a 6-4, 6-2 win on court four, followed by Smith with a 6-3, 7-6 (3) victory on court three to seal the match win.

Finishing up on the remaining courts, Lukas Moenter (court two), Charles Boyce (court five) and Diaz Freire (court one) all locked up victories.

"As a team we need to do a better job focusing on what's in front of us. We look to take this learning experience into a great tournament this weekend at the Oracle BNP Paribas College Invite."
