March 15, 2018 Box Score
With the game tied at four in the bottom of the sixth inning, a WCC contest between LMU and BYU has been halted due to snow in Provo, Utah. The contest will resume on Friday at 3 p.m. PT from Larry H. Miller Field.
Both teams scored four runs in the fifth inning, as Dylan Hirsch contributed an RBI-single and Niko Decolati drove in a pair with a double down the right field line to highlight the LMU scoring.
The Cougars wasted no time drawing even, plating four of their own in the home half of the frame. BYU took advantage of a pair of Lion errors in the inning, eventually scoring four runs (one earned) on four hits.
Junior Codie Paiva got the start for LMU, tossing the first five frames and allowing four runs (one earned) on eight hits. Jordan Wood started for BYU, surrendering the four runs on five hits and two walks. LMU had just one hit through the first four innings, but scored the four runs on three hits in the fifth.
Following the continuation on Friday, the two teams will play the regularly-scheduled game two of the series.
