LMU men's tennis sent
Lucas Moreno and
Ryan Brown to the 2018 Easley Memorial Championships last weekend in Las Vegas, Nev., with Brown posting a pair of victories.
Brown opened play in Flight Two with a 7-6, 3-6, 7-5 victory over UNLV's Zach Gamer, advancing to the second round and a match against UCLA's Max Wild. There, the Bruin managed to take down Brown in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. The native of Manhattan Beach, Calif. would then return to the court in an added match on Saturday, posting a 6-1, 6-0 win over UNLV's Mario Aguayo.
Moreno also competed in singles play, dropping a second-round match to UNLV's Olle Thestrup, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, following an opening-round bye in Flight One.
As a doubles team, Moreno/Brown played just one match, falling to UCLA's Connor Rapp/Lucas Bellamy, 8-6.
The Lions will now prepare to host the Second Annual LMU Invitational from Friday through Sunday of this week. LMU will welcome Utah State, Utah and Nevada to the LMU Tennis Center to compete in the invitational. The schedule for the LMU Invitational can be found below:
