LOS ANGELES – The LMU men's soccer team (5-12, 2-4 WCC) suffered a 2-1 overtime loss to the San Diego Toreros (7-7-4, 3-1-2 WCC) on Sunday afternoon. The Lions scored first in the match and held a 1-0 lead for about 30 minutes, but USD came back to tie it and then score the game-winner in the overtime period.

Dylan Shockey scored his first goal of the season to put LMU up 1-0 at 49:48, catching a deflection off of teammate
Alex Liu's shot and punching it in to give the Lions the lead. LMU maintained this lead until 74:17 when Miguel Berry of the Toreros tied it up 1-1 by sending a shot past Lions' goalkeeper

Neither team scored again in regulation and the match was sent to overtime. Just over two minutes into the extra period, Berry once again got free from the Lion defenders and scored on a breakaway to end the contest in favor of the Toreros. Berry now has eight goals on the season for USD.

The Toreros outshot LMU 16-13 on the night, while holding a 9-7 edge in shots on goal. Wilson finished with seven saves and USD keeper Matt Wiher had six. USD had six corner kicks to LMU's four.

Liu led the Lions in shots in the game with three, while Shockey and
Will Dubay (both on goal) had two each.

The Lions return home on Saturday for the team's final game of the 2018 season vs. San Francisco at 7 p.m. It will be Senior Day on the Bluff as the team honors its senior group.
