Oracle/ITA Men's Rankings
Senior
Lukas Moenter has been tabbed as the #60 singles player in the nation according to the latest Oracle/ITA rankings released on Wednesday. The ranking is the highest in LMU men's tennis history, besting Nico Terrien's #75 preseason ranking to begin the 2005-06 season.
Moenter has turned in a stellar start to his final campaign, highlighted by a historic run at the 2018 ITA Men's All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. The native of Bielefeld, Germany won five of the six matches he played after earning an opening-round bye, reaching the third round of the qualifying bracket with eyes on reaching to the main draw and the final 16 players. The run at the All-American Championships was the best for a Lion since Cristobal Rivera reached the same stage in 2015.
So far this year, Moenter has gone 8-3 in singles play. He finished last year as a second team All-WCC singles player after registering a 10-6 overall record, including a 6-5 mark in dual matches.
LMU wrapped up the fall schedule last weekend with the Second Annual LMU Invitational. The Lions will return to action on January 20 when they host Fresno State for a 12 p.m. match.
